Local Unit & Position Description

DNV GL provides independent advisory, analysis, engineering, testing, certification, monitoring, control, and asset management services. We work with investors, project developers, system owners, utilities, and equipment manufacturers to help manage risk throughout the entire project life cycle and to ensure the performance and safety of systems from residential rooftops to multi-megawatt power plants. Our global solar ‘community’ consists of about 200 employees who daily share knowledge, experience and projects.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

 

As a Consultant/ Engineer Solar Energy, you will be responsible for providing technical input for the feasibility assessment and analysis of utility and commercial scale solar projects around the world as well as solar advisory services in the Netherlands, ensuring the tasks are completed on time and with high quality.

 

In doing so, you will:

  • Develop your technical knowledge in the field renewable energy.
  • Develop new tools or models.
  • Help identify market opportunities, develop our existing services and establish new services.
  • Write (or contribute to) clear and high quality reports and commercial offers.
  • Be given the opportunity and guidance to grow to a consulting role where you execute, lead and sell projects to help customers realize the project goals and deliverables.

 

Based on your experience, we will create a plan together with you for your development for the next few years. We will do this through our 70-20-10 philosophy: 70% learning on the job, 20% coaching and 10% training.

 

Position Qualifications

We are looking for technical advisors who are team players, enthusiastic and who actively contribute to the success of our team and collaborate to create results.

 

What else?

  • Relevant Master’s degree (preferably mechanical engineering or civil engineering).
  • 2 to 5 years of work experience in the energy industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with working with PVsyst.
  • Understanding of and passion for solar energy systems and projects.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills in Dutch and English language.
  • Motivated to learn about understanding the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision.
  • Capable to handle change and adapt to new requests or situations.
  • You are willing to travel abroad occasionally.
  • You have good networking capabilities.
