Local Unit & Position Description

Through working in collaboration with our customers, we undertake strategic projects to develop a thorough understanding of the challenges and opportunities for the transition to a low carbon, competitive future. The route may include increased renewable deployment combined with energy storage, integration with national or corporate compliance targets, industrial energy efficiency, material efficiency or demand-side response.


Our experienced team works with closely with companies and institutions across Europe providing:

  • Energy monitoring and mapping in support of industrial energy management to help identify and maintain improvements
    ISO 50001 gap analysis and implementation support, energy audits and training in support of operational excellence
  • Variability analysis of energy use and production data to identify energy savings opportunities
  • Staff behavioural engagement and change initiatives, embedding energy and carbon management into everyday thinking and processes
  • Identification of improvement opportunities relating to equipment, behaviour or analysis of electrical/gas supply to minimise variable energy costs including supplier charges
  • Advising on corporate energy strategy including carbon management and compliance
  • Policy-related projects including evaluation and impact assessment of European and UK policy

Key Accountabilities:

  • Playing a role in business development efforts through proposal development and fostering positive relationship with existing and new clients
  • Support the management in the coordination of a smaller team within the Department ensuring all members of the team are optimally utilised, produce high quality technical work and are engaged
  • Overseeing energy efficiency projects, including client interaction, developing scope of work plans and leading delivery teams
  • Designing projects, developing budgets, managing staff and subcontractors, and ensuring quality of project deliverables
  • Preparing reports and presentations for clients covering methodology, findings and recommendations
  • Identifying and leading the development of thought leadership and new client initiatives - including with other parts of the energy business such as renewables, storage and demand side management
  • Developing, maintaining and applying knowledge about current and notable market issues

Position Qualifications


  • Graduate degree in process, energy or environmental engineering, or related discipline
  • Proven track record and accomplishments in leading business development efforts towards manufacturing industry, leveraging contacts, leading proposal efforts and driving new business developments efforts to increase revenue
  • 5-10 years years of experience developing and managing projects
  • Negotiation and influencing skills at multiple organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to manage clients, staff, and tasks to quality, budget, and deadline targets
  • Effective team player, both internally and externally, in collaborating on strategic initiatives and opportunities to drive business growth
  • Experience in developing and delivering technical presentations to technical and general audiences
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 20% of the time mostly within the UK
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 2007, including Power Point, Word, Outlook, and Excel.


  • Knowledge and experience of delivering energy efficiency projects
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 50001 implementations
