Local Unit & Position Description

As a Strategic Purchaser Central Europe your responsibility include, but is not limited to:

  • Processing of the complete procurement process of defined product groups in the segment of freight and service which includes the order handling and its monitoring
  • Monitoring of the compliance and the CoC in the appointed procurement area
  • Bid comparisons and negotiations concerning prices and conditions as well as the finalization of framework contracts in collaboration with other departments
  • Autonomous analysis of the international and German market for procurement conditions and innovations of the appointed product groups (Market research and tenders)
  • Creation and implementation of strategies on the level of product groups including procurement market research, pre-qualification and supplier development in accordance with the consumers of the DNVGL group
  • Contributing to the implementation of the procurement strategy as well as the optimization of the operative procurement system and its processes
  • Research of the suppliers as well the development of new suppliers and the monitoring of the supplier selection process
  • Development of a supplier management and a system for the rating of suppliers
  • Development of procurement strategies to realize cost and optimization potentials
  • Application of procurement systems (MM, SRM and LCM in the role of a Key-user)
  • Support of procurement and teamsourcing projects
  • Execution of the interface function between procurement, specialist departments and service providers
  • Maintenance of the contract data base
  • Support of the international procurement organization
  • Visiting international trade fairs

Position Qualifications

We are looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:

  • Successfully completed business degree or comparable apprenticeship
  • Comprehensive experience in relevant field
  • Good SAP skills in the R/3 Modul MM and SRM
  • Good skills in MS Office (Word, Excel) as well as experience with merchandise management systems
  • Good knowledge concerning the topic of contract law
  • Strong analytical and conceptional skills
  • A high level of assertiveness, good communication and negotiation skills as well as a self-confident manner
  • Fluency in German and English
