The Offshore Permitting Project Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of environmental and permitting services pertaining to wind projects located in state and/or federal waters. This includes supporting general project development and owner’s engineering activities, such as initial site characterization and marine spatial planning; leading the preparation of siting studies required for permit applications and stakeholder engagement; representing DNV GL and Customers with stakeholders and government agencies, including stakeholder tracking; local, state/provincial, and national permit applications; and coastal-zone management consistency.
Preferred candidates will have experience leading environmental assessments or environmental impact statements compliant with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for offshore infrastructure projects, including but not limited to offshore wind facilities. The Offshore Permitting Project Manager will also be engaged in U.S. business development efforts for offshore wind including building and maintaining Customer relationships, leading or assisting with proposal efforts.
The Offshore Permitting Project Manager will join the multi-disciplinary Environmental and Permitting Services (EPS) group within DNV GL. The dynamic working environment will require easily adaptable and technical employees to provide services across a wide range of active projects, including those in the development, design, construction, and operational phases of project lifecycles. DNV GL is looking for a versatile individual with experience and training in relevant fields such marine biology, marine ecology, land use planning, landscape architecture, environmental science/engineering, or environmental law/policy or a similar field. The selected individual will be requested to occasionally undertake studies in their field of expertise, as well as manage projects for our North American and international customers.
The level of the position will be commensurate with the level of experience.
