Our customers include ship owners, cargo owners, suppliers, financial organizations, national and international authorities, NGOs and other players in the maritime value chain. We are a preferred advisor in the ongoing transition to low and zero emission solutions in the Norwegian ferry sector and we are assigned as technical advisors for national public and private incentive schemes for environmental technology investments. Our section has also initiated and manages the Green Shipping Program – including the newly formed GSP Service Center for Fleet Renewal; https://greenshippingprogramme.com/.   Our section is also responsible for DNV’s Alternative Fuels Insight (AFI) platform; https://afi.dnvgl.com/. Launched in 2018, it has more than 5000 users and is the preferred industry go-to source for information on uptake of alternative fuels and technologies in shipping, as well as bunkering infrastructure for alternative fuels. AFI is now a well-established digital service covering a wide variety of fuels, but further developments are required to cover for example hydrogen and ammonia infrastructure and to offer new value-adding services. We are now seeking a new colleague that will get responsibility for the further development of AFI, while also participating in other services in our section.   As responsible for AFI the candidate will amongst other be involved in: - Improving the continued delivery of our AFI service - Leading a small global AFI team responsible for ensuring the data and statistics are always up to date and efficiently communicated and visualized - Monitoring the uptake and investments on alternative fuels and technologies and updating the AFI platform data and other abatement databases. This will give a unique and detailed insight into the ongoing energy and technology transition in shipping - Introducing a structured approach to digital sales and marketing of the service - Promoting alternative fuels, the decarbonization of shipping, and the AFI service on social media, with the possibility of becoming a recognized industry voice. Further grow the AFI user base into a lively community and marketplace - Supporting the development of applying AFI data in our environmental services and products - A significant part of the role is to identify, investigate, validate and ultimately lead the development of new AFI features. Utilizing modern innovation and product development techniques to develop new features on AFI is expected - Rebuild of the AFI code (front-end and back-end) is also foreseen, and this requires engagement with a developer team and UX designers   The candidate will also be involved in a variety of the section’s other environmental services such as developing decarbonization plans, alternative fuel feasibility studies, environmental dashboards, environmental/carbon intensity-reporting, Environmental Social Governance (ESG), and FuelBoss. FuelBoss is DNV’s newly launched digital platform for LNG bunkering of ships. The ideal candidate has programming and database skills, and a strong interest in and knowledge of environmental solutions and technology.
